Wall Tile Installation
Before starting, ensure walls and floors are clean. Remove dust by brushing or vacuuming, then wipe surfaces with a damp sponge and allow them to dry completely — this step is essential for adhesion.
Installation Steps:
Take measurements using a tile and spacer to determine layout
Mark a horizontal reference line across the wall width using a thick pencil and level tool
Install wooden support strips (battens) along the marked lines
Position the first tile against the wall and mark its placement
Prepare tile adhesive — ensure the mixture is homogeneous and smooth. Apply adhesive above the support and anchor the first tile by tapping with a mallet
Lay tiles using spacers for consistent gaps. Verify the tiles are level with a bubble level
For subsequent rows, apply more adhesive directly to the tiles. Regularly tap tiles with the mallet using a tile float
Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours, then clean edges with a sponge
